Sunday September 20th- Tribute to U-ROY - 9:00pm
U-Roy's rise to fame was slow, and took almost a decade. He began back in 1961, DJing at the Doctor Dickie's Dynamite sound system. Eventually, he moved onto the Sir Mike the Musical Thunderstorm outfit, and then in 1968 to the Sir George the Atomic sound system. The DJ was then lured away by Coxsone Dodd; however, soon tiring of playing second fiddle to longtime veteran King Stitt, he returned to Sir George. [more...]

Sunday August 30th- Tribute to Beres Hammond- 9:00pm
Over the course of a 30 year career, Beres has poured his smoky-sweet voice – an instrument of subtlety and power reminiscent of an Otis Redding or a Teddy Prendergast – over every kind of riddim track, from the funked up reggae jams of the '70s fusion band Zap Pow to the lush instrumentation of his 1976 album 'Soul Reggae' to the spare digital beat of his 1985 dancehall breakthrough "What One Dance Can Do." Sunday August 23rd - Tribute to Bennie Man- 9:00pm
One of Jamaica's most crucial DJs, Beenie Man's recording career stretches back to 1981, although it was in the sound systems where he later made his mark. The witty toaster began his true ascent to stardom in the early '90s, and by 1994, his reputation couldn't be beat. Then again, when you're a recording veteran at age ten, one wonders just what took him so long. Every country has its child stars; just look at Shirley Temple, but few treat their prodigies with the respect of Jamaica. [more...]

Sunday July 12th - Lady Saw - 9pm
There are so many names for Lady Saw: The Queen of Dancehall, The First Lady of Dancehall, or the latest one: Mama Saw. The latest name, however, is quite befitting at this point in her career because she is The Matriarch for all female dancehall deejays, and arguably some female rappers.
